Program Manager to develop and implement an empowerment program for South Asian survivors of domestic violence. This is a grant funded position and the Manager will be responsible for planning and organizing program activities as well as carrying out operational tasks related to the grant. This includes the management, supervision, evaluation and reporting of all activities related to the program The ideal candidate is culturally sensitive, aware of issues related to South Asian DV survivors, a self-starter, creative, with excellent organizational skills and an eye for detail and able to understand the needs of and work with a diverse group of people. We are looking for someone with prior experience in managing a project and working with a non- profit organization.
i. Work with board members to hire consultants for the training programs
ii. Work with MaiFS marketing and outreach teams to disseminate information about the program
iii. Work with MaiFS outreach team to recruit and register participants for the program
iv. Review curriculum, instructional materials and training activities
v. Set up program schedule
vi. Organize transportation and child care for participants
vii. Review progress of each of the programs
viii. Work with Trainers to identify problems and develop solutions
ix. Implement, manage, supervise and evaluate all activities related to the programs
x. Maintain budget and track expenditures/transactions
xi. Maintain accurate records and oversee maintenance of records regarding participants progress
xii. Compile, maintain and report on the monthly, quarterly and annual program statistics.
xiii. Develop, implement and evaluate recruitment strategies to expand the number of volunteers to support the program
xiv. Develop, implement and evaluate recruitment strategies to expand the number of clients participating in the program
xv. Create and submit reports both to MDHHS and the MaiFS Board
xvi. Perform other grant related duties that may arise
i. An undergraduate degree preferably in the Social Sciences, Social Work or related field.
ii. Familiarity with South Asian cultures and knowledge of at least one South Asian language
iii. Detail oriented with strong problem solving and leadership skills
iv. Creative, self-directed, able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and roles.
v. Ability to interact with people of varied cultural backgrounds
vi. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
